Keyless Entry Keypad

Keyless entry keypad is most often placed near the window of the driver’s side door. When you press it once the keypad lights up and then you press in your code which unlocks the car. But there are also times when the code is pressed in too fast and the system fails to recognize your ultrafast pressing speed. This problem is solved once you reenter the code, a bit slower.

The key functions that the Ford Keyless Entry system does are:

  1. It locks or unlocks your door.
  2. Engages seat and mirror positions saved prior.
  3. Anti-theft and alarm function.
  4. Trunk access.
  5. Personalizing entry codes.

Generally when the car is new, the wallet card that comes in the glove box of the vehicle provides you with the factory set 5-digit code giving you access to your car or in some cases the dealer might provide you one. Door access

To Unlock: You can unlock all your doors at the same time. Press in your personal code or the 5-digit code that the car comes with within five seconds of each digit then pres 3.4 within the next five seconds of entering your code. This will light up the interior lamps and also unlock all doors simultaneously.

To Lock: Close the driver’s side door and then press and hold 7.8.9.0 at the same time. This will lock your car.

Trunk Access:  Press in your personal code or the 5-digit code that the car comes with within five seconds of each digit then pres 5.6 within the next five seconds of entering your code.

Setup Personal Code

  1. Press in the factory code and press 1.2 within five seconds of giving your code.
  2. Enter your 5-digit personal code and press 1.2 to confirm and save your code.
  3. Your success will be confirmed by the doors locking and unlocking.

Upton five codes can be programmed in this way. However, the confirmation code will change in the following way:

       (a) 2nd code, press

       (b) 3rd code, press 5.6

       (c) 4th code, press

       (d) 5th code, press 9.0

And, should you forget all five of your codes or lose them in the apocalypse there is always the option to return to the 5-digit factory-set code.

Recalling Saved Positions

Pressing in a certain personal code will automatically reposition your mirrors and seat that have been saved by you for that individual code.

Deleting Personal Codes

All personal codes will be deleted if you enter the factory-set code and then press and release 1.2 within five seconds and again pressing and holding 1.2 for two seconds.

Anti-Scan

The system will lockdown for one minute once 35 consecutive numbers are entered in a wrong way. In this case you have to do the following:

  1. Wait for one minute
  2. Unlock via remote control.
  3. Turn on the vehicle’s ignition.
  4. Unlock the car via intelligent access.
  5. Press in the factory-set code.

How to find the 5-digit Factory-set Code

Be one the ready to take note of the code as it will appear only for a few seconds. You can wither write it down on a piece of paper or take a photo via your cell phone.

  1. Insert your first key and turn on the car for a few seconds.
  2. Remove your key and insert the second one and do the same.
  3. You will receive other warning messages before the factory-set code comes up on display.
  4. Take a photo or write down the code. Be quick as it comes into view only for a few seconds.

Using Smart Access Keys

For this your are going to need the programmed smart access keys.

 The code will come up on the information display:

  1. Insert the first programmed key in the slot located in the center console
  2. The buttons should face the rear and the key ring is at the tip
  3. Press Start or Stop button once and wait for a few seconds and then press the button once again before removing the key
  4. Slide in your second key and press Start or Stop
  5. You will receive other warning messages before the factory-set code comes up on display.
  6. Take a photo or write down the code. Be quick as it comes into view only for a few seconds.

Finding the Factory-set Code

  1. Find the Remote Anti-theft Personality (RAP) Module located inside a removable panel at the back of the vehicle.
  2. Turn the two thumbscrews counterclockwise to remove the panel.
  3. Use a light source to search for a label on the module.
  4. You will find the factory-set code on it.
